These people are a nightmare when trying to cancel or cease monitoring. I canceled in April and here it is August, and I'm still getting billed for services that I shouldn't have had. They keep saying that the air was on my part and I have spoken to five people thus far, and I finally told them they were not getting paid, and that I was going to ignore every bill they sent me. These folks are making it impossible to cancel an account -- must be in writing with a 30 day delay. Can't get through to their customer service to even get the address and department number to write too! Stay Away from these folks! I have had four calls into them to answer a very simple question and keep getting put into their long call lines; can't talk to a supervisor when requested; can't get the information I need; too many can't rather... I had a 3 year contract with Protect America. The 1st year was OK, the 2nd year I began having problems with my equipment, the main unit failed many times. Then my landlord, sold the house. When I called to cancel the contact, they told me that in order to do that, I had to sell the contract to another person or pay $620.00. Customer service sucks, equipment not good at all. Hint: disconnect your panel power and battery on a armed system within a minute, they won't even call you or notice it at all. Can't get my service cancelled! They lied to me! Get disconnected by phone and several cancellation emails not answered by them. Was disconnected twice saying timed out while waiting for customer service to address my problem on their online site! Meanwhile they are taking payments out of my checking!!!

we have a system for 28 months and had several issues with it , i have paid it anyway for 28 months , now we sold home and are in a rent house for a short period , i called to cancel as i was told verbally i could when i bought unit and it would cost 100 dollars , now i was very rudely told that i could not cancel and tough luck. i was thinking about using it when we relocated but now due to there customer service telling me tuff luck i would... This company does not make their contract cancellation clear. If you miss it on their website you're in for a surprise if you need to cancel before the obligatory 36 month which again you have to get from the website. They promised to subtract two months to ease the pain of paying for the unused portion of the contract only to renege on that promise at the end. When i signed up with this company, I know I was told that I was free to cancel my agreement, (providing a 30 day notice,and returning the equipment). I asked the question several times. I recently lost my job and went to cancel the contract, and they said that I cannot cancel. I was in a 3 year agreement!! The worst service ever and impossible to cancel. If you hit the option for new sales, you get through in one minute. However, for customer service you wait 30-60 minutes. Read more
