I called PROTECT AMERICA a year before my contract was up and explained that I wanted to cancel service and pay the balance. They said that I had signed a 3 year contract and I said I was aware of that and I provided CC info to pay the remaining months (1+ year) and cancel the account to avoid renew. The camera will work for 3 or 4 days and then shut off. I reconnected and the same thing happened. Now the camera is not working at all. I have been on the phone with customer service for an hour trying to fix the problem (three times)and it is still not working. The service is lousy. When I first called Protect America the agent advised me to buy cameras elsewhere and I could save money. I did so and it cost me $300 for incompatible cameras. When I talked to them they said they would check their recording of that call. Of course they never called me back about the recording. Protect American fails to provide the equipment and service per the agreement but expect the consumer to continue paying their monthly "monitoring" fee. Protect America failed to provide me with properly working sensors and even when notified failed to replace it. I had to move to a care facility so can not use alarm now but was told I could not cancel payment even though terminal. I was actually told it would be something that would be sent to collections and/or my estate. I was astounded as this is ridiculous. Signed up with protect america. After 2 weeks of going back and forth because of their errors and technical issues with their equipment.finally got system activated. I been with this company for 8 years until today. I've been calling for the past 3-5 months to get my system "updated". I temember calling early on after I signed the contract for 3 years.
