the morons sent the unit to the wrong address then told me the cats would not set off the motion sensor they did the glue that holds the sensors on the windows melted resulting in the 2nd false alarm 1 of the bedroom sensors alarmed for no reason room was closed off office sensor quit working all this in 3 1/2 months PROTECT AMERICA YOUR FIRED ! 2 hours on hold and the little girl that answered... On more occasions than I care to recall, Protect America has been unable to adequately protect my home due to various reasons. PA attributes these problems to every possible thing other than the fact that their equipment is sub par and their service is spotty at best. The monitoring aspect which is the most important, is down constantly. When the system is down PA does not advise you either by text or email which they have the capabilities to do. I always find out when my alarm is activated by faulty sensors and nobody calls. It would be my advise to use a more reliable company. I contacted Protect America in order to find out more about pricing on additional equipment. It seems their sale school teaches their customer sales people not to give out simple information without the potential customer answering 100 questions. I know their pressured to sale, but why do they need my name, address, description of my home, reason I'm asking about home, security, etc., etc.... Read more

I called PROTECT AMERICA a year before my contract was up and explained that I wanted to cancel service and pay the balance. They said that I had signed a 3 year contract and I said I was aware of that and I provided CC info to pay the remaining months (1+ year) and cancel the account to avoid renew. The camera will work for 3 or 4 days and then shut off. I reconnected and the same thing happened. Now the camera is not working at all. I have been on the phone with customer service for an hour trying to fix the problem (three times)and it is still not working. The service is lousy. When I first called Protect America the agent advised me to buy cameras elsewhere and I could save money. I did so and it cost me $300 for incompatible cameras. When I talked to them they said they would check their recording of that call. Of course they never called me back about the recording. My 5 linx rep sold me a PA system around 6 years ago. I have had several issues with this company which resulted in me switching to a hard wired system yesterday. Protect American fails to provide the equipment and service per the agreement but expect the consumer to continue paying their monthly "monitoring" fee. Protect America failed to provide me with properly working sensors and even when notified failed to replace it.
