I had to move to a care facility so can not use alarm now but was told I could not cancel payment even though terminal. I was actually told it would be something that would be sent to collections and/or my estate. I was astounded as this is ridiculous. Signed up with protect america. After 2 weeks of going back and forth because of their errors and technical issues with their equipment.finally got system activated. The compNy failed to give monitoring station my pass code. I triggered alarm by error. Was unable to verify my Identity to monitoring station . Authorities called. I been with this company for 8 years until today. I've been calling for the past 3-5 months to get my system "updated". I temember calling early on after I signed the contract for 3 years. Have had protect america since 2008: The system has worked for a few years we agreed toan update and that apparently locked us in for three more years. The equipment came and was incompatible with the door panels. Rude and incompetent customer service kept us on the phone 3 hours no results. More equipm e nt on the way. I was told by a rep that my acc was closed it turns out I owe them I dont know how much now and that my acc was never cancelled and they tell me im in a 3yr contract when the representative I sing up with told me I was in a month to month service ..I never got to see any contract and they are just not willing to help in any way noone has called me to go... My sensors have not been working for months. I kept calling but they only wanted to talk about what I owe. I asked to be cancelled and was told I had to pay the full term or transfer this to someone else. Why would I tranfer non working equipment to someone else. Steer clear of Protect America! They have faulty equipment. It was very rare that my system worked at a stretch without any glitches. I was tired of having to constantly call in about the equipment. I did business with this company since 2010. I was broken into 5 separate times and not once was the response time quick enough to stop the burglary. I closed the business and called to cancel the service. you have to send a letter to cancel. Can't do it over the internet or by phone.
