we have a system for 28 months and had several issues with it , i have paid it anyway for 28 months , now we sold home and are in a rent house for a short period , i called to cancel as i was told verbally i could when i bought unit and it would cost 100 dollars , now i was very rudely told that i could not cancel and tough luck. i was thinking about using it when we relocated but now due to there customer service telling me tuff luck i would... This company does not make their contract cancellation clear. If you miss it on their website you're in for a surprise if you need to cancel before the obligatory 36 month which again you have to get from the website. They promised to subtract two months to ease the pain of paying for the unused portion of the contract only to renege on that promise at the end. We signed up and installed the system. And its really bad. Signal problems. Cheap sensors and installation mechanism. And the worst - they claim to lock you in for 3 years service fee. No buyout, no penalty to get out - nothing. They want to soak you anyway they can. They do not care about customer service. When i signed up with this company, I know I was told that I was free to cancel my agreement, (providing a 30 day notice,and returning the equipment). I asked the question several times. I recently lost my job and went to cancel the contract, and they said that I cannot cancel. I was in a 3 year agreement!! The worst service ever and impossible to cancel. If you hit the option for new sales, you get through in one minute. However, for customer service you wait 30-60 minutes. Read more

Protect America would not email me a complete quote. I spoke to 2 different reps and both would not email me a list with pricing of what they would offer me. After those two calls, I kept receiving calls from them DAILY. I finally called and spoke to RICH whom I politely asked to be removed off the list. I agreed to service and 1 hour later found that it was not compatible with my home and I called my sales rep, he assured me that it was ok and nothing was shipped or charged. 2 days lateri got box from Protect America. I have not opened the box. I called Protect America to find out how I am supposed to get the box back. The said I could send it FedX, UPS, or US mail and I would have to pay for that and they would be charging me an $80... Read more

From the beginning we have had issues with the equipment. The sensors quit working and have to be constantly adjusted. Plus, I had no idea this was a 36 month contract. I found this out when attempting to cancel my contract, only to learn I could not get out of the contract before the 36 month period. PLUS, BEWARE, if you don't want to be "automatically renewed" you have to give 60 days notice. I will never use them again. Read more
